Turkiye-Syria earthquake

The powerful earthquakes hit southern Türkiye and northwest Syria early on February 6. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is stepping up its relief efforts to help people in northwest Syria hit by two deadly earthquakes earlier this week.

To date (9 February), the ICRC has delivered the following aid to be distributed by our partners the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC):

2,500 food parcels for people in shelters in Aleppo, Latakia and Hama. Each parcel will feed one family for one day.
1,000 hygiene kits to Aleppo
5,000 mattresses to Aleppo
First aid supplies to SARC branches in Aleppo, Latakia and Hama.
35,000m3 of water that will be trucked in to shelters in Aleppo for 10 days
115,000 bottles of clean drinking water in Aleppo, Latakia and Hama
Medical supplies to help around 750 patients in three hospitals in Aleppo, Latakia and Hama
